Zierkorken Herakles

So macht Wein trinken besonders Spaß. Prost !

The famous large barrel was built in it (first for 130,000 liters, then 200,000 liters, the third today's barrel for 220,000 liters), in which the tithe wine, a levy from the farmers, was collected. To ventilate the room, 2 lions were attached to the facade, through whose open mouths air could flow through the room.

Replica girl at a (grave) pillar

The famous terracottas from the Greek workshops of the "Koroplasts" from Tanagra, Tarent and Myrina are mostly copies of larger sculptures from public spaces. They were manufactured in large numbers in wooden matrices and some were equipped with individual heads or faces.
The type of wealthy woman, who was shown in numerous poses and dressed according to the latest fashions, was particularly popular. All figures were glazed in color.
These female figures were given to girls when they were born, served as role models and lucky charms and were finally buried with them as grave goods, which is why a large number of them have been found in the necropolises of Asia Minor.

Replica Hatshepsut

Representation of the pharaoh Hatshepsut (New Kingdom approx. 1479 to 1458 BC) as a man, original in the Neues Museum Berlin. Scale 1: 10
The name Hatshepsut means "the first of the noble women". She began her political career with the marriage of Tutmosis II, who was, however, quite insignificant and died after 3 years. The children that the couple had were so small when Tutmosis II died that Hatshepsut took over the reign of the underage heir to the throne Tutmosis III. took over and became a pharaoh. She was revered as the ruler of the peace, although some smaller wars took place under her rule, in any case Egypt came to great wealth during this time and enabled her to have a lively building program.

Replik Aphrodite Heyl

Gewicht: 2,2 Kg

Replica Aphrodite Heyl

The replica presented here shows the goddess Aphrodite in a sensual pose, only half covered by a delicate cloth.

The description of the original figure in the catalog of the Berlin Collection of Antiquities calls it an "exquisite beauty" and is exhibited in the Altes Museum. The goddess bends her head towards a cupid who, like the base and attributes, is lost. The fine work speaks of the high mastery of the ancient creator and is a good example of an erotic god figure, which was often set up in private homes of the bourgeoisie. The figure was painted in color, the robe in blue, and stars were probably depicted on the diadem.

It comes from the city of Myrina in Asia Minor, where terracottas were produced in large numbers in molds (matrices) and sold all over Greece.

This replica was modeled by Christoph Brandis and is made of terracotta cast marble. It is screwed into a base made of oak wood with an embedded threaded rod.

Each hand cast of this replica is made entirely by hand in the formfalt manufactory:

Material: cast marble, pigments

im Liebieghaus in Frankfurt a. M. (30. Januar - 30. August 2020)

 in the Liebieghaus in Frankfurt a. M. (January 30 - August 30, 2020)

This high-quality replica was built in museum quality at a scale of 1 : 4.5

The Peploskore was found on the Athens Acropolis near the Parthenon temple. It dates from 530 BC. BC and is a good example of the archaic sculptor's immense artistic ability. Numerous remnants of the ancient painting were found on this marble sculpture, which a team led by the archaeologist Vinzenz Brinkmann was able to reconstruct over many years of research. All decorations are slightly pre-engraved in marble.

Replica JUNO

For the Museumsshop GmbH Weimar we were allowed to make this beautiful replica of the Juno Ludovisi, whose original can be found in the Goethehaus in Weimar. It was to Goethe's grief, however, only a copy of the original; but at least he was so fond of the lady that he had just had this replica delivered to Weimar.

The formfalt replica is about 12 cm high and was modeled by the artist C. Brandis. After making a silicone mold, each individual copy is hand-poured and safely packed in a beautiful white cardboard tube including title. An additional inlay also describes the little story that revolves around Juno.

Material: Gussmarmor, pigmentiert. Größe: 21 x 24 x 3,5 cm (H x B x T), verpackt in einer weißen Karton-schachtel mit Titelbild.

Excerpt from the description:

The semi-relief of the Zeus group is very detailed with many details in the clothing, weapons, facial features, etc. If you look at it closely, you will discover many things that are outlined here only briefly. The details left / right are seen by the spectator, but the description of the fighters is related to them (Zeus' right hand ...)

The group around the godfather Zeus consists of 4 plates. In the optical center, Zeus, with the body turned towards the spectator, moves to the left, the right hand raised to the javelin, the left one carrying the Aegis. His broad chest and the extremely muscular body of a mature man are wrapped in a flowing cloth (chiton) with an impressive drape of drapery, which underlines the dynamics of the movement....

August 2017

Replica Lying ram from Dschiroft

Animal figures are widely used in most ancient cultures, based on agriculture and livestock, as consecrations and offerings as well as fertility symbols. The crouching ram from the Dschiroft culture is worked very fine and distilled, the artist had a good knowledge of anatomy and behavior of the animal. The inlaid eyes of the original are typical of many early cultures (see also Tell Halaf). The hole on the forehead indicates an insert in another material, but it is lost. Instead of the ears holes are visible, they were probably made of a different material, they are missing as well.

The extraordinary finds from the burial ground of Jiroft in Iran testify to a highly developed independent culture. These artifacts, otherwise seen in the National Museum of Tehran in Iran, will be shown for the first time in an exhibition in western countries:  Iran Early cultures between water and desert  Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn from April 13 to August 20, 2017

Replik Kopf einer Ägyptischen Prinzessin

Momentan leider nicht lieferbar !

Neues Reich, 18. Dynastie ~1350 v. Chr.

Replica head of an Egyptian princess

New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty ~ 1350 BC Chr.

This beautiful head was part of an assembled statue (composite statue), which was found in the sculpture workshop of Thutmosis in Achet -aton, today's Tell -el-Amarna, around 1920.

Thutmosis was also the creator of the famous Nefertiti bust. Slight similarities suggest that the depicted princess may have been a daughter of Nefertiti and Akhenaten. The special style of Armana portrait art was significantly influenced by Thutmosis and his workshop. Striking features are long-drawn faces with strong chin and sharp pronounced lips, a thin long curved neck and above all an extremely sweeping back of the head. Where these characteristics come from and whether they were realistic could not be clarified so far.

This head of the princess was acquired by the Berlin art patron James Simon 1851-1932 and given to the Neues Museum in 1920.

Replik Steigendes Pferd

Replica Rising Horse

The fragment of a tomb with rider fight is in the old museum Berlin. The finely crafted relief of white marble with strong reddish sintering (lime washings and deposits) shows a powerful horse, which blows over the defeated opponent. From the rider itself only a small amount of hair is visible.

The Greek epigram praises the courage and victories of the deceased from the Phyla community. As an example of this tomb, the official state grave (Greek name: demosion sema) applies to the fallen in the State Cemetery of the Dipylon Gate in Athens.

Location of the original is Athens / Chalandri (Greece), marble around 400 BC. Chr.

Replica in scale about 1: 5 Material: cast marble, reddish pigmented

Replik hockender Pavian

Replica Lying cow

The lying cow from stone from approx. 2700/2800 v. Chr. From the area of Uruk in Mesopotamia. The carefully crafted figure had inlaid flowers of precious stones instead of cow marks, which were not preserved. The shape corresponds to a marguerite, which can also be seen as an ornament on the Ishtar Gate and on the processional road of Babylon.

The function of these precious animal figures is not proven, they were found numerous and were probably consecrations for the gods.

The lying cow has unfortunately some damage, a hole in the back and on the forehead could have contained a precious stone, but perhaps also the staff for a bronze emblem.

The lying cow is exhibited in the Middle East section of the Pergamon Museum.

Replik Wettergott vom Tell Halaf

Replica weather god from Tell Halaf

God from the orthostats of Tell Halaf. The upright relief plate (= Orthostat) comes from the excavation of the banker's son Max von Oppenheim in Tell Halaf, in the area of today's Syria. This weather god comes about from the 10./9. Century BC Chr.

This bad weather god holds a club and a ritual krummholz in his hands. With these "tools" he lets it thunder and that leads to rain.  The assignment as a weather god succeeds by the cuneiform on his chest, there is: "Temple of the Weather God". The function and origin of all orthostats is not clear, it is believed that some could already come from an older culture. The weather god is exhibited in the Near East Department of the Pergamon Museum.

Replica Inanna front from Uruk

The front of the temple of Inanna was built by the Babylonian king Kara-indas around 1413 BC. Built. It shows a goddess and a god who hold bottles in their hands, from which water flows and decorates the front in reliefed streams. The King Kara-Indas came from the mountain people of the Kassites, who ruled Babylon for over 500 years, as a symbol of the mountains are the semicircular reliefs of the facade and the shapes seen on the man's coat. Both figures are not to be assigned to any particular gods, but could be considered as images of the goddess Inanna, who was dedicated to the temple. Inanna was one of the most important Sumerian goddesses who was worshiped throughout Babylon. She is the goddess of love and sex life, warlike and conquering.

The front is made of burnt clay bricks, which are extremely fine, so that the joints become part of the forms and figures and do not disturb them. Noteworthy is the transition of the water flows in the form of a "collar" of the 3-dimensional figure in the flat wall surface.

While the bodies of the figures are decidedly static and not really human, both heads have very realistic features that, despite their too large eyes, are human. The woman is marked with a necklace and fine hairstyle, the man wears full hair and beard splendor. Both are marked with a horn crown as gods.

This is a cast of a replica of C. Brandis in the scale 1 : 12.5

Replik Oskar Schlemmer Relief H, 1919

In diesem Sinne: Gesetzestafeln.
